About an hour train ride from Berlin one can find themselves lost in the wonders of the Spreewald. A series of manmade canals crisscross through forests, with inns and villages hidden underneath. During colder seasons, the place is more or less dead quiet, while the summer requires a boat booking in advance.
Lübbenau is the main sight and probably the best place to kick off the trip to Spreewald. There behind the village is the line of boat operators and boat rentals. For those looking for more of a chill trip, taking a boat operator is a best bet, and better to reserve in advance. They will operate the boat through the journey and you just need to sit back and relax.
