Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a semi-independent province of China, but it none-the-less a part of China. It is a booming metropolis where banks are boss. It is considered the most lazzie-faire economy in the world, irony being that it is a part of a communist country. What is most interesting is that Hong Kong’s currency is printed by private banks, with permission from the central bank. Now that is a true testament of how much banking rules here.

Although Hong Kong is thought of a giant metropolis stretching the whole territory, this is furthest from the truth. Hong Kong is mainly concentrated at the edge of a mountain and Kowloon. The rest is more spread out and there are many uninhabited islands. It is a big city, but it is just as easy to get out without actually leaving Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a cool place, but not really some sort of inspirational tourist destination. It is like New York City, sure there are some nice things to see, but at the end of the day it is just a big city.
