Tirupati is a major holy city in southern India. Built on top of a mountain plateau, this temple complex receives millions of pilgrims a year. Religious chants are played continuously from speakers on the town streets. Religious men and pilgrims litter the normally quiet and desolate streets.
Besides the temple, there are several nature and pilgrimage walks around. Several waterfalls break into this mountain valley. Some even make the trek up to the mountain city from the bottom, while others prefer car. The trek up the mountain is made of well built stairs, and there are several devotees that make the climb.
